Victorinox Display | Retail display design focusing in artist imagergy and regional design to highlight a brand.
Victorinox has been a Swiss staple for years making the iconic Swiss army knife and luxury watches. As a brand they cling to classic appeal and instant recognition of the Swiss army knife, but in more recent years they have been working on pushing the appeal of there product to more than just the knife you grab when you head camping.
To develop a layout and elements of graphic design for my personal display I looked at Swiss poster design in particular the work of Josef Muller Brockmann one of the most well known Swiss designers who captures the essence of Swiss design. He is best known for its simple designs and clean use of typography.
I was particularly inspired by the works of Vincent Mauger is a French contemporary sculptor. His work is mostly composed by sculptures, drawings, videos that intend to materialize what could be a mental space. In his site-specific installations, he opposes the exhibition space with the mental perception of another space, leading the visitor through a confusing experience. I the idea idea of “transporting” viewers to new space. Perhaps a representation of the brands changing image.
